Bunch of fillers and updates on life as Wongcheok. Doesn't make for much entertainment imho, but hey - you never know.
Fantastically busy saturday; it's amazing what one can come up with at such short notice. Window shopping around town reminds me that i'm getting older with each passing year - damn, but it used to be fairly interesting on the route from far east to heeren; it's all just boring and excessively tiring to me now. Though the company makes it worthwhile, I guess: the good doctor Donovan (new RAV4 coming in monday so i burnt him a cd for his player, which I lovingly entitled HC1101E: Introduction to Hardcore Music. Plus, I purposely put in some really catchy songs between the core tracks so that he'd be forced to listen - we'll see if he grows to Atreyu after a couple months.), Leftenant Ow, Ho-sama and Lao-Sneaky Weikin.
The beauty of a good friendship is that like wine, it can only get better with age... And that you can give each other ridiculous nicknames which'll probably stick for many years to come: can you imagine me calling the doctor "Dildo Don" after he's married? Muhaha.
After a pretty much fruitless time in town, i coerced the guys over to Beach Road in my quest for a pair of new shoes. Success! I hitched myself up wth a new pair of Vans for a fantastically-low 50 bucks, which gave me an ear-to-ear grin throughout dinner; it's a marked change from spending a hundred and fifty on every other shoe, so you'll have to pardon my exuberance.
Oh yeah. Got a new cap too. A steal for 8 bucks.
In all, a pretty solid day up til then. But that wasn't the end: headed out to Simpang for supper with Chow, Chalk and Kenneth (showed up 3 hours late for... personal... reasons). Indulgence in good food, entertaining conversation and excessive smoking... which is increasingly worrying to me. Oh, for those who know Desmond Yao: he's back! I met him this morning. Apparently he just got off his flight, changed and came straight down for supper with friends. So happened it was that he sat right beside me; small country, this is. Bloody small.
Kinda tired, but I hate sleeping past noon - feels like the whole day's come, gone and left you in its wake; I hate losing time like that. Gonna dig out the old magic cards later: they might provide me with some fun over the next few days, seeing as Kenneth and Chow play MTG in the library so much. It's kinda insane to play against Chow though: his deck is fucking hell chock full of first and second ed. cards like Fork, Lightning Bolt and Mox rubbish.
And here's a few music recommends for the appreciative ear:
Anberlin - A Day Late, Ready Fuels, Naive Orleans, Drag to Feel Good, Paperthin Hymn
Anberlin play extremely catchy music which ranges from pop-punk to core-punk. Best band i've found this month. What're you waiting for? Go forth and download thy songs, and get away from thee Satan while i'm at it!
