Just Friends part I

maddie's suggestion gives me a good excuse to write about something other than dirty linen - i mean, who wants to hear about my 11 year old brother getting caught for theft by the discipline headmistress anyway? of course, it kinda got me thinking if it ran in the family blood and all, since i was a major thieving sonofabitch back in secondary school... but ah well - it doesn't matter now, does it?

my policy is simple: you wanna... hrm... BORROW... something, jolly well go ahead - just don't get caught doing it. i'm considering imparting this really handy piece of wisdom to my kid bro, but even if i do think it's remarkably true and something every teen should know, i somehow don't think it sounds quite right.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

most of the schooling population wish institutions of higher learning would just disappear off the face of the earth.

today i went down to school for absolutely no good reason whatsoever.

I WAS BORED YOU SEE.

thats right - sometimes i get sick of playing dota at home, and there's only so much you can do with an empty wallet.

so i headed down to school to get some work done (because it's impossible to get ANYTHING done at home). i hit school at 330 and fagged judiciously in the canteen; i also polished off 1 X econs tutorial and 1 X philosophy webcast in the central library.

what A-student ways, madeleine? i havent been an A student since secondary school... but if you wanna know how i motivate myself to study, well... that's really easy! step one: open your wallet and dump all semblance of money into nearest drawer in room. step two: bring some homework and head out; this leads on to step three: you're now stuck somewhere outside lugging around those heavy books/notes of yours and you don't have a penny to your name - tell me, is there really any other alternative than to study?

yes, people - i am fucking broke. it's fortunate that i'm not in a state of complete nut-bustin' bankruptcy, or you might be seeing a paypal sign up on this blog.

and as for the legendary arts girls everyone seems to ask me about... well, i've come to realise that i really couldn't care less. its kinda funny, how i used to be so uppity about a decent girl population with solid dress sense and now i really don't give a fuck. one good explanation for this is that while there're good looking babes trawling the campus, there isn't really any good way to get to know them. so... umm... that kinda sucks yeah.

and even if you do get to know 'em... what then? the problem with gender relation is that there's seldom such a thing as Just Friends. platonic friendships are few and far between... rare as a blue diamond...

... which brings to mind a piece of good advice for all: don't ever, ever eat at the Blue Diamond restaurant over in Little India. any place which charges 3 bucks for an iced milo has got to be a shithole, and i'm sure even if you disagree with my earlier words you'd probably agree with this. god damned indian restaurants. whoever came up with the idea of mixing butter with curry ought to be shot for giving me a day-long stomachache.

yeah, gender benders... err, i mean, gender relations. right. in my book there're only 2 kinds of friends - Fairweather and For-life; there aren't any in-betweens, as you who've watched Episode III should know: i quote unquote obi-wan that Only the Sith deal in absolutes (it's the only line i felt was worth remembering, just like "His come tasted sweeter!" from Closer), and obviously i dont possess innate pussy light-side tendencies.

i find it extremely difficult to elevate most girls to For-life status, because all too often signals get mixed in the air; this, like Willy Wonka's TV Chocolate, results in situations whereby you don't quite get the end product as it should be.

- cue 2 hour interlude of dota here -

k i'm back.. where was i? oh god dammit. i've gone and completely lost my train of thought and i gotta rise early later too. this sucks abysmally.

anyway, the gist of it is this: hang out too long with a girl pal and there's bound to be complications. of course, it isn't always the case because there do exist some pretty cool chicks out there... but mostly it's the case, so fuck that and i'll stick with my guy pals & trusted girl ones, thank you very much.

this is pretty interesting stuff. maybe i'll write more another time.

... and come to think of it, who'd want a boyfriend who can't even afford his own damned lunch in the first place?

The only line I remember was between
Darth Sidious and Mace Windu:
Mace Windu:He's the traitor!
Sidious:No he's the traitor!
Mace:GAH! *Mace windu has left the building.

Heheh.. And, can't a guy survive on looks alone?

sid: i read casanova4hire's blog and apparently you can... however, i have thus far received zero propositions from good looking and wealthy women of any sort, so i'm inclined to disagree with this theory.

or maybe i'm just down on my luck. aww shucks.

lionel's getting acquainted with the library!! now things are getting interesting..heh :)

..though i find the library too cold for comfort. somehow it manages to trigger my "hibernate" button. and when it gets too cold, all you wanna do is sleep sleep sleep.

You have encouraged me to continue on my lastest article. Also, what's so hard about making friends with pretty girls? Find their blog and er, comment a lot. And you won't get romantically involved in them, since you'll seldom see them in person anyway.

amy: NEVERRR!!! i must i must i must STUDY

studying is free, and thats as good as it gets. sleep is too, but i have more than enough of that at home, so...

sb: haha hell yeah. i actually could relate pretty well with that one but i thought it somewhat inappropriate just to comment saying "yeah i feel you man".

as for the blog part... hahaha. it doesn't quite work that way, does it? and i think i've passed the point of caring anyways.

heehee.. shuping is evil.

and well see i guess what lionel means is that its simple enough to maintain a platonic relationship but when you get really really close and all somebody just cant help falling for the other somebody.

so right now we're all good friends but we arent super duper bestest best friends which is why we arent falling head voer heels in love with lionel wong.. muahaha.
