if you dont already know, club momo is situated where the ghost of sos resides. its gone through a rather big revamp, though, and it looks and feels butt-spankingly great.
the bunch of us ended up going down with some of des's friends, namely brena and aldrea. aldrea came packaged with boyfriend kelvin - batteries not included, suitable for children aged 18 and above only.
was it kelvin? or kevin? or did i get the name completely wrong? oh bother.

the four strapping young lads...

... and the two gorgeous young ladies
anyway, as i said, club momo is a pretty cool place to be. it beats phuture hands down. serious! the crowd's better and there's so much more space on the floor. the drinks arent as cheap as they used to be back at sultan of swing, and the long island tea is pussy compared to zouk standards, but hey - the music was r&b the whole evening (save for this short half hour, but drinks for that period were one for one so it kinda makes up for it), and i know that be da bomb wit' some of the lady friends i have, so yeah.
momo's the new word, baby!
i just be waiting for someone to organise a trip back there, yo.
some pictures of the evening, for those who dont like reading what i write (shame on you!):

normal, red faced, redder faced. it pays to be pale sometimes.

anthony is red as a fucking lobster. he's a weird fella, tony. excessive bloodflow to his heads, i bet. *sniggers*

the evening ended in a massive riotous orgy of flying fists and drunken shouts. complete strangers proceeded to let fly with both mouth and limb, dishing out copious amounts of devildry... whilst phua and i stood on a raised platform, arms folded and grinning as we watched the scene play out before our very eyes.
oh, how i do love waxing lyrical. haha.
the mad scramble of security, and restraints of friends upon friends, the failure of logic and reason amidst a haze of inebriation... such wonderful chaos.
but i digress. i've always been a sucker for dark humour... well, most things dark, anyway.
a smashed aldrea was a living example of human fluidity, as she proceeded to meld in accordance to the shape of whatever surface she lay on/against.
we trooped off to newton, des driving aldrea's mpv with me and phua cramped in the back, tony aldrea and said boyfriend (batteries bought seperately) in the middle, and brena with des in the front.

over the course of time after our exit from the club, i came to realise that this brena girl was really quite an interesting subject of study.
case in point: she kept cussing her ex boyfriend (this fella called ben) non stop. when i asked her how long ago they broke up, she replied that it was several months ago, and that he still calls her and messages her, demanding her whereabouts and threatening her n' shit.
apparently, he's this damn super possessive guy or something to that effect. im not inclined to gossip much about someone i dont know, but from the several calls and messages he gave her at frikkin 5 in the morning while we were having supper at newton, im assuming there must be some truth in her statements.
and i thought i was possessive. you see? i am perfectly fine.
so basically, the morning from then on degenerated into this big dialogue about said ex boyfriend ben and his inadequacies. phua aided the flow of conversation greatly by chipping in all his extra sidenotes about his previous relationships, even though nobody enquired as to the nature of mr amk's sexual history whatsoever.
and i thought i was egotistical. you see? i am perfectly fine.
still, the topic was of considerable interest to me. i actually do somewhat enjoy hearing stories about the sad state of human relations, as evil as that may sound. i suppose it comes as a sub category of my great joy of basically listening to people, period.
i do so enjoy decent conversation.
anyway, the funny thing about brena is that she's a sucker for punishment. just keeps going back for more, even though its over and she swears she hates the guy (the term fucker was a predominant exclamation over supper). reminiscent of a certain charmed liaison whom i know. its funny how some people just cant seem to let go.
and by saying this, i dont mean to sound superior at all. for a period of time, i suppose i was like that as well; stubbornly ignoring the obvious truths and clinging to ideals and memories long eroded.
just spoke with aldrea over msn. apparently its kelvin with an 'l'. batteries still not included!
relationship issues always make for decent conversation topics, dont you agree? fantastic supper discussions can bloom from the simplest question such as "so how's you and so-and-so these days?"

phua demonstrated a rare moment of brilliance yesterday!
the sudden influx of wisdom in his observations on relationships astonished me, to say the least.
would you believe anything wise could ever come out of the mouth of someone who behaves like this in a club?

phua's gems of heartstrung wisdom!
the 3 steps to getting to any girls heart:
phua was all uppity about this, and frankly when he finally finished his explanation of his infallible 3 steps to conquering any person's heart, we were all pretty pissed at his apparent wastage of our time. but after a little thought, i actually find this to be rather true. just that i usually doubt anything that comes out of phua's chickenass mouth; there usually isnt much substance, you see.
1. listen to and be completely honest with person
2. source out person's insecurities
3. exploit insecurities in whatever method you deem suitable
see? it sounds ridiculous. but think about how you got together with your partner, whether in past or at present. have you ever done anything to this effect?
be honest with yourself.
the observation on settling for less
phua: "never settle for someone who doesnt meet at least the majority of your ideals. compromise will not solve everything. if possible, never compromise."
i agree with this statement to a large extent. it might take forever to find someone perfect for you. hell, it might even be impossible. but once again ask yourself this - would you wait a lifetime for that one person who was the perfect fit to your jigsaw?
i'd go for a yes. i'll save my 3 lifelines for more pressing problems in life, thank you very much.
