clubbing and star whores.

i dont quite understand the theory of clubbing to destress. some people i know subscribe to this theory (sara being one of them, chalk i think being another); the logic behind this constantly eludes my vast expansive understanding of the world. whats so relaxing about cramming in a club with hundreds of other sweaty bodies (at best, maybe only half of them are guys. at worst, all of them are guys. ccb.) and bouncing to the hearing-destroying vibes of gigantic speakers?

i'll just stick to my sit-downs with close friends and generous servings of alcohol, thank you very much. not that clubbing doesnt have its own special draw, but... y'know. relaxing? its about as relaxing as pissing blood. or shitting bricks. which basically means that it is not relaxing at all.

unless you're silly or demented like the abovementioned people. or you really do piss blood or shit construction on a regular basis. then i have nothing but great sorrow for you, since your death is obviously imminent.

i think the full realisation of just how relaxing such a session of drinking and light banter can be eludes us all until we begin to work. ive done it plenty times in my younger days (im 21 already, must say things like in my youth or when i was younger more often. hawhaw), but a couple weeks back i met up with donovan and ho for drinks after an entire week spent on course, and the feeling was... ahh.

cannot describe. very different, to say the least. if you dont understand, get yourself a 9 to 5 job, do nothing but work, eat and sleep for the first week of work, then on friday evening meet up with old friends for a drink. then you'll understand what is relaxation. how can clubbing ever provide the same sense of serenity you experience when you know there isnt work the next day, and you can have a peaceful beer without worrying about waking up the next morning?

im being quite one sided here. i mean, to each his own and all that crap, know? usually i try to sit on the fence on such things, but tonight i really cant be bothered; someone went to swap the thick wooden fence for one of those new whitewashed arrowboard fences, and its causing my buttcheeks (and hole) a world of hurt.

i caught the star wars movie recently. free somemore. as a farewell thing for ORD personnel, my battery (we dont call it platoon in artillery, we call it battery) held this outing and we all trooped down to tiong bahru plaza at 930 in the morning to watch revenge of the sith.

i thought that in comparison to the very first star wars films, this one still wasnt up to par. in fact, all 3 modern day star wars films (phantom menace, attack of the clones and revenge of the sith) cannot make it. this might be attributed (as the big fuck pointed out) to the lack of harrison ford a.k.a hans solo in the 3 prequels.

i have to agree. hans is just the biggest badass in star wars. and he isnt even a jedi. pui.

anyway, i thought the show was damned ridiculous and damned funny. i was the only one laughing constantly in the cinema, so im abit worried that im developing a warped sense of humour. but whenever i share my thoughts with others they always burst out laughing, so i take it to mean that im a really funny guy.

what, you dont think so? aiya, whatever man. today dont have much topic to blog about also. all this stuff is straight from the colon you know.

if you wanna know what i find so damned amusing about the show, go catch it first. then if you know me, we can like meet up and chat about it sometime. i bet you'll be laughing your pants off like how i made don crack up while driving his little jeep, so much so i think we almost crashed the friggin thing thrice.

for those who already caught it: this scene should ring a bell. i felt this portion had near excellent comic timing. too bad george lucas was so hard up about sticking to the script; it really was a potential drop-dead-laughing sorta thing.

for those who havent: when you see this part (which is quite minor, dont worry), you'll probably be laughing because its damn 70's drama can? but i laughed even harder, cuz this was what was going on in my mind.

darth vader, fresh from the oven, asks...

camera pans to darth sidious looking quite stunned.

(note: had lucas changed darth sidious' line to "oops", i would've given episode III 4 stars outta 5 straightaway.)

after some frantic thought, sidious replies...

vader wasnt too happy about that.

darth sidious breathes a sigh of relief at his escape.

the neverland ranch showcases its pride and joy, michael jackson!

i'd always listened to mj as a kid. even with his current state of affairs, there really isnt any dispute as to who the king of pop ever was. there's some really gorgeous songs in his vast collection, and im gonna just name a few lesser heard ones.

featured artist: michael wacko jacko
key listens: give in to me & billie jean (which i really think would sound good as a rock or punk cover)

Agreed.
Hans Solo just kicks ass.

As for that last scene,
I totally agree.

Imagine..
Sidious going 'oops'
Then Vader turning around to choke him.

How hilarious would that have been?

On retrospect, getting your trachea crushed isn't very funny.
hmm..

jenny: indeed, the force is strong with you.

fuck. i need to stop with this force nonsense.

uhh. actually, the 'sifu' part is only cuz i taught sara how to play bridge... heh. but that does not detract in any way from the fact that i am still awesome, godly etc etc whatever.

lol. and i still dont get the bloody dear john thing. frikkin shit.

sidious: YA MAN. i dont understand why no-one seemed to take notice. i thought they panned to palpatine's face looking stunned on purpose lor. comic timing was how awesome!
